Employer wants to do video call interview. How to go on with this?

I got an email from employer which states that we can have a video interview to know more about me and the skills.

Is this the norm these days? And.. Should I use phone or laptop? Should I stay at home for this or I can go in a coffee shop / in a car or outside? What are your thoughts?

I've never experienced this kind of interview even though this company is just nearby my place.
