Should I dog walk on my own or work for a company?

Hey guys,

So I'm just really curious. I started working for an employer who pays me $8 per dog walked. And I get 2 dogs per hour if not 3 or 4. And I'm an independent contractor. So I know at most I make around $20 an hour after taxes. What I was wondering is if I'd make more money doing my own thing where I guess I just put up fliers at my local supermarket and maybe advertise on Craigslist or somewhere cheap like maybe Indeed. Have any of you out there done both? What was your experience? I've also been told by a couple of friends of mine who do their own thing that it can take a bit to find clients. What are your thoughts. Any feedback would truly be appreciated!!
