Hey guys
I’m currently at a job that I like. I work as an ABA therapist. I enjoy my clients and my supervisors but the issue is compensation and how far I’m driving.
For context I took a job with the company like 4 months ago but it is in another city that is maybe 15 mins away. Not bad but I didn’t think about the fact they may have me go out farther. Currently I’d say out of an 9 hour work day I’m also driving 2 hours on top of that. I’m really only working 7 hours with some driving it between
But the start and end of my dad is always my longest commutes even though I have clients closer to me. I also frequently have to go over a toll bridge. I’d Say of a normal 2k monthly income 300-350 of that goes to gas and toll bridge expenses.
Even though it would suck to leave an employer I like and leave clients I like i just feel super unmotivated with how low I’m making. (I live in Seattle for reference)
I have found places locally that would keep me from using the toll bridge and lessen the amount of driving I’d have to do, plus they would pay me the same rate or more. Plus better benefits with the new companies.
I know it would be weird to explain to new employers and would suck to have that on my history I’m wondering what you guys think?
