I left my job a few weeks ago to start at a new company. I loved my coworkers and the company culture, but I felt like I needed a change (dumb reason, I know). I didn't burn any bridges and left on a great note. My boss even kept mentioning throughout my last 2 weeks "if I was sure I wanted to leave" and "she has boomerang'd back from a job before". So when I started my new job, I realized that this place was vastly different in terms of culture and workload. They barely trained me and are expecting me to hop into a lot of different projects right away. And if I have a question for the person who's training me, he'll sometimes just ignore me (lol). Also, if I'm not doing something fast enough, he obviously shows that he's frustrated. It's already so intimidating starting a new job, but knowing that I'm pissing off someone cause I'm not up-to-speed yet is even worse!
So anyways, I want to go back to my old job. I already dread going into work and it's only been a few weeks. My old co-workers told me that I should just say the culture wasn't what I was expecting and that I want to come back. I also feel so embarrassed to be crawling back to them. My old position hasn't been filled yet and they're still trying to allocate my workload to different people. Has anyone experienced something similar? How do I ask for my old job without sounding absolutely desperate?
