So I'm a stupid 27 year old about to graduate with a bachelor's in biochem this semester if nothing too tragic happens. After taking near 8-9 years of effort (yes, 8-9 years to get a bachelor's; I'm not the brightest and problems at home didn't help either), I realized I'm not really cut out for this but I figured I might as well get the degree. Initially when I first started out I was thinking about pharmacy/dentistry; after coming this far and some time to look at things, it seems my best options (with my shitty GPA and underperforming extracurriculars) are to do a postbacc, SMP, or a PhD in what I assume is biochemistry. I know now that I'm inept in this field of study, so should I take a break in this field and try for a master's in another? I realized that I'm not too bad in math, so should I take it in that direction instead? Or should I try for a second bachelor's over a master's? Would it look bad if I took a break from school to self study and/or volunteer (or some other extracurriculars) instead of just going back into it? My experience in college taught me (at least for me) that it's mostly 98% self study anyways and the college is just there to pick up the degree.
I want to get a 6 figure job in order to live a comfortable life and to support my parents. Hence my pursuit of a biochem degree since from what I asked around/googled at the time it was a good degree for pharmacy and dental. But I fear that it might be too late for me. Or just out of my reach. I do not have a special preference in my career; if someone paid me 100,000 yearly to dig up a hole in the ground and fill it back up again, I would do it. I would love it if my likes lined up with a career option, but I don't think it's feasible. My interests/hobbies are videogames, comics, and watching youtube vids and twitch streamers; none of those are exactly inviting fields to earn a living in without a large amount of luck and effort.
