Not keeping up in a new job. Best advice?

I recently joined a company and have started real work this week. I am not fully grasping the fundamentals, and I think my employer can see that. I am a perfectionist and it’s seriously starting to worry me so I am now confused AND nervous.

This role and company is great and will do amazing things for my career if I ensure my success within the role. How do I go about this? I’ve had concepts re-explained twice today and I still did the task wrong. I’m not an idiot! At least, I don’t think so..
