Recently I got a promotion from production associate to production lead- this was through my managers and directors. I signed papers making it official and all was well. Well, today I find out that the CEO of the company was not consulted about the promotion and sent out an email to the higher ups explaining that 1. He needs to be consulted first about promotions 2. He thinks I deserve a promotion but that the title should be senior production associate rather than production lead.
Is this a lesser sounding title? Why is he doing this?
