Is it a bad sign if the job title of a position you applied to changes?

Just went through a final round interview with a company which went very well, but they told me I’m competing against an internal candidate with significantly less experience. I noticed a day after my interview that the job title (along with my application in their system) has changed to a slightly less “prestigious” one. Is this a bad sign that they changed it for the internal candidate?
