Here is some backstory: Graduated with a BS in Computer Science in June of 2018. Tried getting some interviews for some entry level software developer roles after graduation, got interviews, but no offers. Took a data entry job at a late stage startup and continued to interview while working. Got paid hourly and didn't get PTO so I ate whatever money I lost while interviewing. Got interviews, no offers, but I did manage to get incredibly sick because it was during the winter and lost even more pay. Got laid off at the end of April. Spent the summer job hunting and getting career advice. Redid my resume so it is now actually 3 different resumes for 3 different types of jobs(administrative, help desk, developer).
I am starting to get interviews again, but I have gone from being excited about them to dreading them. Everytime I get an interview request I immediately think "This is going to be a waste of time and money." Between working at a retail job that might as well be volunteer work with how many shifts they give me and the size of my paycheck and a mom who is bashing me every chance she gets because of her thinking is degree = job and has not had to job hunt a day in her life(She worked at a grocery store as a teenager and grandpa knew someone who worked at a large company and she got a job as an executive secretary.), how do I go to job interviews without wishing I was going to get a root canal instead?
