I'm working a seasonal job till January. What's the best way to explain to prospective employers why I'm looking now?

Just what it says. I took a seasonal position for the local performing arts center, and they only need us to work until January. I'm going to start looking in mid-October because I don't want to do the last second scramble, and because Seattle is a bit challenging for job hunters. What's the best way to convey my motivations in an interview?
