I’m currently working in the restaurant business as a manager (20 something female) First job out of college. Making decent money but I’m ready to make a change. I want something more for my life and I feel like I’m wasting my time in this company. (I would like to do something entrepreneurial and am looking for different opportunities)
I knew what I was getting myself into with working weekends, holidays, etc. (I’ve been in the hospitality industry for 5 years) but I feel like I’m wasting my youth at this point. I think the biggest problem is that nothing about this job inspires me (it’s a chain sports bar restaurant selling subpar food/drinks). I’ve just been told that I’m being forced to move locations from one where everyone I work with is like family to me to one that has a notorious reputation for bad morale. I may be getting a pay raise but this is coming at a time where I was about to jump ship before the busy football season. Question is do I stick it out and wait to see how this transfer goes until my lease is up in January or do I leave now and try out another job path???
