Are they trying to make me quit?

I’ve been at current position for two years. Today my boss calls me into the office and says

“hey, we are short on budget and things, we want to covert your office to storage, I want you to move to a cubicle next week, what do you think about that?”

What do I think about it? Are you trying to make me quit? There are two other people who also has offices, why me? Why not them? I just told him fine and walked out.
