My SO and I are currently in Florida, but we want to move to Colorado. We both have decent experience in our fields. Numerous times now I have gotten through several phone and skype/zoom interviews, but then they end up going with someone local.
We're planning on moving to CO anyway, but would prefer to have at least one job lined up before going out there.
We've both made it clear during phone interviews that we don't require relocation assistance, and that we're flexible in moving earlier, if need be (I just request 2 weeks so I can put in proper notice at my current job). This past job interview, it was between me and one other person, and they decided to go with the local person. This is not the first time this has happened.
Is there anything different we can do that would give us a better chance? Or should we just move out there without a job anf hope we get ones quickly? Or any tips or personal experiences in this?
