There is a person I know who wants to work in the field I work in. I knew her in college 5 years ago due to a shared hobby, but not well. I haven't seen her since college or talked.
She recently moved to the same city as me and we met again through same shared hobby. She wants to work in the same field I've worked in for 5 years. She is applying for a job where i have worked professionally with a couple people and asked if i can be a professional reference.
Ive never worked with her or even know her that well. So I feel like i would be a terrible reference. I also think she is kind of crazy just knowing her personally. Also I've kept up with her on Facebook these years and know she has gotten fired from at least 2 jobs.
Are these okay reasons to say no and what is the best way to say no?
