Job layoff question

I found out today that I have been pushed off of a project, because my bill rate is too high. I work at a contracting firm (have been there 4 years). I will be on reduced hours and no benefits for the month of September. If I don't get picked up on another project, I will be let go. I acted like I cared and agreed to this, but inside I am planning my exit. I honestly hated the type of work, but did it for the steady paycheck. The people were catty, my work was always marginalized, and I hated the work in general.

I am not stressed out at all. I had (my last) surgery a few days ago to fix nerve damage, and finally feel healthy and pain-free. My husband and I (ok more my husband, because of my work load and watching the kids) have been working hard on our business (on our off days) and finally see that the long hours may be paying off. It's a bit scary to not have a stable paycheck.

I suppose, my question is, why do I feel like throwing a party? The last time I was laid off (10 years ago), I was a hot mess. I was a nervous wreck. Now, I'm in my 40s, have even more responsibility (kids, mortgage, car payments, medical bills, etc), and I feel free. Has anyone else felt this way about job loss?
