First Job Anxiety

Hi (first post here!),

Is anyone out there in the recruiting department at a Big Law firm? Or in a similar situation as I am? It’s my first week on the job and I feel so overwhelmed that I want to cry.

Basically, I joined right into the thick of recruitment season and it’s been really hectic. This is my first job after undergrad and first time working in a formal corporate setting. I didn’t realize my social anxiety was this bad until I started my job, which sucks because I have to talk to a lot of people (like partners). The assistants who have been doing my job (before I joined the team) are leaving like tomorrow so I’ll have to start handling their 17733782 billion responsibilities and I’m intimidated by my boss. I feel so bad bothering my other teammates because they are so busy and I hate asking 1000 questions a day. I feel like I come off as very timid and shy when inside I try to act very confident and sociable.

I just wanted to rant and I hope someone somewhat understands what I’m going through.
