After being unemployed and struggling to get a job for 10 months I just got a job at Starbucks!
I used an app called Heroes Jobs. They called me the day after I made my profile and I had an interview within a week. The jobs aren't great, mostly retail and food service, but they took really good care of me. I think I got lucky because because the app doesn't use a resume, just short videos, so Starbucks didn't know that I had been out of work for a while.
Starbucks isn't where I want to be in the long run as a I have a BA and I'd like to get a "real job" eventually. But I feel like I made a step in the right direction. It feels better to have something to structure my day around.
The best strategy (from someone who really shouldn't be giving advice), especially in tough times, is always to keep working hard, stay positive, and learn from your mistakes. Love you guys!
Any general career advice is always welcome! Thanks in advance!
