Hey reddit,
A week ago I received a job offer from a reputable communications company. They sent me a job offer letter after a phone interview for 55k. I did some research and found that the median salary for this position is around 65k. I sent them a letter asking them for 64k. Now they want me to do another interview before they send me the adjusted offer with the updated salary amount. Is this typical?
The man I spoke with on the phone was the VP of Client Services. He told me that the job will have a 2 month probational period at the end of which they'll decide if they'll keep me year round or not. He told me that he's confident that I'll, "knock their socks off" but I can't shake the feeling that they're leading me on. Could use your help and advice, thanks!
