I recently graduated college and have been searching for jobs for about three months and haven't had much luck. I majored in political science in college and I have been applying on job board websites like indeed, and linkedin. Because I have only had a few requests for phone interviews which fell through I am guessing my job search is going to take longer than I had anticipated. I have a phone interview next week and hope that goes well but in case I get rejected my parents suggested I should work a part time job to make money on the side while I apply for full time positions. Is this a good idea or not? I have been hesitant towards applying for part time positions because I don't know if I might be interviewed, and hopefully get a job offer soon. Maybe it is a pride thing but I still feel like I didn't work my butt off in university to settle for a part time job. I also worry if I did start a part time job that I would have to quit soon once I get an offer for a full time job. However because I am still unemployed after almost three months I think my parents advice makes sense. At least I would be more productive than currently.
