Seeking interview advice: Lack of work experience, how to persuade HRs?

As title suggests, I am graduating with my master's in environmental studies in Sep, and am currently looking for jobs. Not too surprised, a lot of entry-level (ish) jobs are asking for 2-5 years of work experience.

My current situation: I only have 8 month of non-paid work experience as my undergrad capstone project, and my master's is research-based (original plan is to pursue an academic path, but realized the competitive nature, combined with lack of passion in my research field)

What I am applying to: jobs in the sustainable finance sector (banks, REITs, asset management firms)asking for 2-5 years of work experience, but require bachelor's and consider any advanced education as a plus.

I have been getting interviews, but fear that the lack of industry experience is working against me.

I am wondering is there any ways for me to address that during the interview, for example, maximize the lessons I learned during the minimal corporate environment exposure? or reassure my research skills are highly transferable to the industrial setting?

p.s. for the context, those jobs contain certain level of research and the rest is stakeholder engagement type of work (so a lot of communication?)

Would appreciate any insights on this regard!
