So I've been at a new job for a little over a month now. I'm catching on pretty quick and my manager seems to be pleased to see that I'm doing as good as I'm doing, but I think some of my co-workers are growing a chip on the shoulder towards me because I've been noticing some passive aggressive behavior from them since I started working there. I've noticed it even before the events that have happened over the past two past days, it's only gotten worse since.
Yesterday the company brought everybody lunch but the restaurant we got the food from forgot to give my manager a salad with his meal. I had ordered a side salad too. Everybodys order was bagged separately and my order came with an extra side of Mac and cheese so i offered my manager the side of Mac and cheese since they didn't give him his salad. I didn't think of offering him my salad instead of the Mac and cheese because I didn't think it was that big of a deal. Apparently it was because a few coworkers brought it up today.. Apparently I messed up by not giving my manager the salad and my manager may possibly have a chip on his shoulder about it. He's even kind of acted different since it happened.
To try and make up for it I decided to bring in bagels for everybody today. I hardly ever get bagels and everytime I've gotten bagels from Panera or Noah's NY Bagels I've been disappointed, so I got bagels from a local bagel spot that has never let me down. My co-workers seemed to make a big deal about the fact that I got quality bagels rather than stale bagels... not only that but I got to work earlier than everyone else today by accident (I didn't realize I was so early) and two of my co-workers seemed to feel some type of way about it. Probably more than that but only two actually showed me how they felt about it.
So basically, I'm starting to feel like I just not a good fit for the company... I usually don't care about what my coworkers think but the past few jobs I've had, I've found that what they think actually does matter. I've found that if your co-workers don't like you they'll just gang up and sabotage you so that you get fired or they will just make it so that you're tired of dealing with their bs to the point where you just quit. Even the manager himself could possibly feel some type of way about me with the whole salad fiasco.
The answer seems to be to just find a new job but this job is the best paying job I've ever had. Not only is it the best paying job I've ever had but its a really good company and I really don't want to quit. I'm here to ask if bringing these issues up to my manager is a good idea. If so, how should I ask him about everything? What should I say?
