Odd PTO policy; advice needed

Hi Reddit. This is a throwaway account, sorry for that!

So my company is pretty great and I love them aside from this really dumb thing. I'd like to solve it ASAP so I can continue on doing what I'm doing without being a little but frustrated.

The way their PTO is structured is strange. It's accrued per pay period, and if you work between 32-39 hours you accrue at an 80% rate of the 40 hour rate, and 30 hours gets you a 75% rate. This all evens out so everybody ends up getting 14 days off total. At least, only if you work 30, 32, or 40 hours. So here's the fun part; I don't. I work 37.5 hours. Since I get the same amount of hours as someone who works 32 hours, I end up getting only 10 days off while everyone else, even people who work less hours than me, get 14 days. Its even worse because I'm the only person on these hours so everybody gets 14 days aside from me. Now, I did the math on this, and I get the same amount of days off as someone who works 8 hours 4 days a week (32 hours), so....as much as someone who gets a 3 day weekend every week and we do have a lot of those here.

I'm very frustrated by this. I don't really use too many PTO days to begin with but I feel like I'm being punished and alienated for working 7.5 hours a day instead of 6, 6.4 or 8. It feels really unfair and it makes me quite unhappy at an otherwise wonderful job.

I have spoken to HR about this but not getting anywhere with it really. It's just "oh I see". How do I handle this? I want to make sure it's clear to them it's not the days off I care about. It's the fact that the policy is not fair to everyone. The same thing would happen to someone that worked 35 hours a week and they do hire for those hours in other departments and I don't want to see this happen to someone else, because it's very hard to notice it unless you do the math for it.

If everybody under 40 hours got 10 days off instead of 14 I would not care. But it's just me and I'm uncomfortable with that. I feel like it should be a simple fix. Is this a standard thing? I looked it up but could not find anything really that had a policy like that.

Please help me solve this without stepping on any toes. I do genuinely like my job and my company a lot and they are all super nice but this is a problem imo.
