I'm in a very odd position at my company. I was hired to become a Research Associate in a few months if I promised to work IT for them; however, 10 months later, and there is no word of that position. Actually, the person who was trying to get me in that position (HR) is now being laid off. Additionally, they've also hired another IT guy and my boss has been constantly micro-managing me / writing me up for very small things. None of my accomplishments are mentioned, only the small negatives that pop up every now and then (we're all human). With that being said, I've been looking for a new job because my brain is telling me to get the hell out of there (Also, the company is on its second loan and taking money out of the 401k pot, so they're definitely having financial issues). I'm 10 months in working full time and also a full-time student at Johns Hopkins graduate school.
I'm worried that my resume will look like I've been job hopping, as I have positions from my University where I've only had ~1 year, and a position before my current job where I've only had ~1 year. So now it's going to look like I've been staying at a job for a year and leaving. My real question is -- does this matter as much if you're in school still (and relatively new to the job market)?
Tl;dr: Does job hopping look as bad if you're still in school?
