First person in my family to get my bachelors. Got in a stem degree (statistics specifically), and received a 3.5 gpa
Couldn't do much on campus because i worked a lot, and don't have high profile connections. In fact, most of my acquaintances are servers and bar types. Not that i'm super smart, but think goodwill hunting (matt damon), trapped in your environment type.
I've gotten rejected at every internship opportunity and can't get a call back to save my life despite knowing all the required programming languages in my field and getting outstanding recommendations from my professors. I feel kind of hopeless bc of my of my classmates who got jobs had family members who were professionals who hooked them up.
How could i put myself in a situation where i can find opportunities?
