I just started my first full time job a few months ago in computer science. Another very nice person was hired at the same time as I was and was placed on the same team as me. They have been procrastinating their work very often, spending most of their workday on twitter and youtube. Additionally, they spend most of the time they are actually working asking me for help with extremely basic tasks. I am more than willing to help them with concepts and providing advice about how to do something, but they keep asking for help until I do the work for them, trying to walk them through it the whole time. I don't know if they just don't care or if they're just really struggling. I tried just not helping them but then our manager told me that they really appreciated the time I've spent helping coach new employees. How do I deal with them taking credit for my work to others and taking so much of my time for my own tasks? I'm starting to get really frustrated but don't want to be seen as not a team player or unwilling to help those who need it.
