Getting hired when overqualified

I am applying for a "Senior Admissions Clerk" at a college who reports to Office Supervisor. I have a Bachelors and been doing Office Management for 10 years in the military.

Would they view my management as a negative thinking that I would not want to work for that position? How should I downplay this on my resume? I just need to get something and this may lead to a better job. Thanks.
