I've seen that you can 'Let recruiters know you're open' with LinkedIn's Career Interests feature so that you still come up in recruiters searches. They say they try their best to not show your current company that you're open for privacy.
Is it common for people to keep this feature on while casually/actively looking at their current job? Or is it almost always better to just search for positions yourself and directly apply? Has using this ever backfired for anyone at their current job?
I would like to casually look/stay open while at my current job and wondering if it's worth the risks, if there are any.
