I’ve been at this company for a year now and have been training for the last 5 months to move into a management-type position (shift lead). As of last week I learned that the position I’ve been in direct training for was filled by someone else who started around the same time as me (without any of the training/experience). I talked to my boss a few days ago to get some insight on why I was passed up on and what I would need to improve on to get the job in the future and he essentially told me “I don’t know what I’m allowed to tell you but just don’t get discouraged”. Which gave me a slim amount of hope but today I got an automated email from the company rejecting my application. Should I start looking elsewhere or hold out a bit longer to see how it turns out?
