What to say after submitting an application?

I am applying for a part time job at a local store that I really want to work at. I want to call them and show my interest in the job, but I'm not sure how to phrase my call. Is "Hi, my name is ____ and I just put in an application there. I am looking forward to hearing from you in regards to an interview!" too pushy??
