I got a job offer for taking home 24% more salary than i am now, and the gross salary is 40% more than what i make now.
I currently work at a small employer (around 40 employees) as an accountant, I'm working in 2 positions currently, but being paid for 1. Despite this, I'm fairly happy where I am and excited for the future.
However, i find accounting to be a stale career, where I've been doing the same thing for the last 3 years and will likely do it until I'm 60, so I've been giving exams for a prestigious qualification related to finance.
Based on this, I've been applying for jobs relevant to the new field, and after 4 months of the interview process, i finally got an offer. The new employer is multinational, and frankly, huge (10k employees). The position is related to the field i love, with chances of rotation.
There are more perks (medical, dental) than my current job and the yearly bonus is higher than the one i get right now.
The offer is better than i was expecting since im essentially considered fresh in the field (treasury). I was actually expecting a cut in my pay.
The reason this is even a question is because I'll be relocating to a city over half a country away. I'll be getting my own place, (currently live with parents as per traditions of the country). A part of me says this is the only time I'll get for negotiations, this is the salary I'll be living with, this is essentially my budget.
The company has a reputation to be stingy, which is why im hestitant about negotiating but also hesitant that this could be my salary for the next couple of years.
Should I try negotiating (terrible at that)? Or should I be satisfied, which I kinda am since i was financially prepared for a pay cut.
