Resignation and atypical counter offer.

I recently found a new job, for the purpose of relocating. It was very much an accident - I was casually looking with no timeline, stumbled upon the opportunity, and landed a good offer. It will allow me to relocate as intended.

When I handed in my resignation, I was of course asked if there was anything that would get me to stay, and I was up front about it - they would have to let me relocate and work remotely. I never brought this up because I was thoroughly convinced that it wasn’t a possibility, but now it is. Current employer would allow it.

My current job isn’t a bad one. I like my projects, like the people I work with day to day, and the pay is good. I have some gripes with another department and the bureaucracy in general (part of why I thought working remotely wasn’t an option), but I figure that these types of gripes are just part of working.

The new job is a lot of unknowns, because it’s a new job with new people.

Now what? I have no idea. Full remote with the same pay and zero commute, same pros and cons sounds pretty great. New job could be great, could be awful, could be something in between.
