Tl;Dr: fired for violating Code of Conduct, Use of Business Technology policies. Had sex with a coworker. Started off nonconsensual and kinda leaned into to it to justify the situation in my own mind. What are my chances of getting hired in the industry (Capital Markets - banking, this had been my first job out of college which I'd also been promoted at last week)?
So for context: recently a coworker/work misunderstood our relationship/my sexual interests(assumed I'm into non consent). Tried to force me to have sex with him while choking me to unconsciousness in the parking garage by work, ignoring me telling him to stop. I was sexually abused as a child and have since then always had a very consistent pattern of reacting in an incredibly stupid way to these situations - my concern always somehow becomes just making the situation less awkward/not hurting their feelings/doing whatever I can to make the situation feel less rapey to myself just so I can say it wasn't nonconsensual and therefore was fine. So I let him know I wasn't ok with what'd happened, he apologized profusely, I ignored him for a couple days but then just went back to normal interaction. So when he put me in a similar situation the following week, I just gave in at that point and told myself doing so would make it okay and not something I'd feel obliged to report/feel unsafe about. For around 3 weeks he made it a fairly regular thing. I was not the least bit sexually attracted to him, but at this point I considered what we were doing consensual, would go off with him willingly though I'd still regularly argue with him over not respecting boundaries/still not listening to me when I said no.
Thursday: myself, the aforementioned coworkers, and two other coworkers are all separately pulled into meetings with HR and Legal. Question me for hours, reference security footage & badge records that place us together (you have to badge in and out everywhere in the building), as well as our skype message from the past couple weeks (nothing really explicit/concrete was said, but there was enough to go on to make correct assumptions). We both denied it initially. I guess he stuck w that, but two hours later they had cajoled me into admitting we'd had sex once, said it was mostly consensual after the first time when he bruised me while trying to kiss me and we'd never had sex in the actual office. They threatened the other two coworker's jobs to get them to admit they'd seen us together (neither of them saw us actually doing anything). Both of us were fired for violating Code of Conduct + Use of Business Technology policies. I guess my actual question is, is this a career killer? What are my chances of getting hired in the industry (Capital Markets - banking, this had been my first job out of college which I'd also been promoted at last week)?
