Offered more than I asked for - Could I renegotiate even higher?

Recently been offered a position. When asked what I wanted, I basically quote my current salary, plus a bit extra. I was a bit nervous that I would price myself out of the opportunity, so tried to be reasonable, as I'm not certain where wages are at in the area. To my surprise, the recruiter came back and said payroll had approved an even higher rate for me. Obviously I'm pleased, but this makes me think I could have asked for even more. We're still in the negotiation stages - I'll have to review the full written offer. Would it be inappropriate to come back and ask for a higher rate, pending the specifics of the contract? Definitely don't want to seem ungrateful/greedy, but don't want to leave anything on the table, as it seems like I could go higher.
