How to get fired?

So I basically got demoted from full-time to freelance due to “company restructuring” and whatnot, which I’m pretty sure was a fancy way of saying that they can’t afford to pay me anymore.

Freelance will basically be unemployment, since I’ll be going from working 40 hrs/wk to....working on an “as-needed basis.” Additionally, it will now be REMOTE (work from home). Tough situation.

They told me very all of a sudden as well, so I came into work without knowing it was basically my last day. So now I’m scrambling to find a new job because I obviously need $$$!

But my quesfion is: How do I get them to fire me, so that I can file for unemployment?
