Hey guys,
Just looking for ideas to bounce off of.
I live in New Zealand, tis a small country with very little aspirations career-wise. Most of the people are either on benefits or making very little money (unless they are in same form of entrepreneurship or famous YTber or whatever), and academically, this country is very poor so it's difficult to transition to another country's education system.
I'm currently faced with several choices for careers - I'm in my last year of high school.
I've considered many options including going to Uni or settling for being a Tradie but ultimately, what interests me the most would be helping the environment.
I remember I once had a teacher who left my school saying he was going through a career change. Giving up teaching, he was joining an organisation which traveled around the country planting trees, doing many things and so on.
This appeals greatly to me and I'd like to do the same, however, I don't know what organisation he was talking about and I can't contact him.
I've done some research, will do more, of course. However, so far all I have found are several dozen small groups of environmental idealists who want donations and travel around helping the poor, or something along the lines of that.
That is quite contradictory in my opinion. I'm not looking to help a soft hearted organisation like that.
The reality is, if the environment must flourish, humans need to either go, or devote themselves to manual labour like planting trees.
I'd kill myself but really, there are other people out there with lower IQ who should go first... no just kidding, twas a joke, please excuse me. I figured the least I could do was give up my small life for helping the earth.
I just don't know where to start.
I don't give two sh*ts about politics, they're all in it for the money. I don't give two sh*ts about idealists, they can't see the real issue. I want to be in with a group of people who don't hide away from reality and know what needs to be done, prioritise the right priorities.
Ideally, I could start my own 'organisation', a team of individuals who follow what I say so we will be able to actually make a difference, but while I do have leadership qualities, I do not have any legal skills to sort through the bureaucracy, nor do I have enough money to invest in such a concept, nor the experience I need. For now, at least.
These are basically my views, thoughts and situation. I'd like to find a solution to all of this. So, any ideas?
Thanks for reading this whole post if you did, everyone. Anything, criticism included would be appreciated but preferably just answers to my questions would be cool, nothing like 'You're going about it all the wrong way' or whatever, though I can't stop you if you really want to comment that.
Cheers :D
