It seems hat there is two staff that is particularly igniting the aggression through being the most vocal about their gripe about company logistics.
I am stuck in a middle management position at my current company. In the past, I’ve brought up issues of hostility between staff members to my supervisor who oversees the department with no consequence given to the instigators. I oversee floor staff to make sure they do their jobs, but one in particular has been one to yell at me (twice now) and said, “everything you say about me eventually comes back to me—I know you’ve been talking shit about me,” which later I found out that my past co-lead had been sharing our privvy staff and staff logistics (including staff-staff conflicts, staff pairings, staff demeanor and personality in regards to facilitating activities) with her.
The first time she yelled at me was a few months ago. I don’t remember what it was about, but within the discussion, I had talked to her about her work habits which she took offense to. The second time, it was Friday, because my current co-lead and I did not provide them with assistance on the floor though we had our own responsibilities to shoulder for that day.
Two months ago, I had initially set an appointment with HR to discuss this in person, however, I was not able to make it to the appointment and at the time, this person was okay. Everything was good. Until last week. Time and time again, this person has caused me to want to quit (mental health vs. Job). I did speak to HR person over the phone briefly about my concerns and about a possibility of a transfer; however, I was informed that I would have to be hired at another department before being able to.
I am desperate. I’ve notified my supervisor of everything concerning with interactions I have had with this person, yet nothing—no consequence has been dealt to her. She was also a part of the reason another staff member had transferred to another department and another past co-lead to quit shortly after she was promoted.
I am at the start of my career and have very little experience working in an office setting with blatant hostility with no consequence to follow.
My question is: Should I make an appointment with HR and raise these concerns? It has been happening for a little over one year. Thank you.
