This guy i know who has done recruiting and hiring for multiple companies told me to follow up in person for a position I want. I’m applying for claims adjusting trainee positions and what I do is find whoever does the hiring on LinkedIn, research them, find something genuinely interesting and email them about it then mention my application. I’ve had positive results including having my application pushed through the system within an hour and tips on assessments.
But these jobs are competitive and I want to keep the momentum.
He suggested an in person follow up, saying that when people did itnto him he loved it because it basically did his job for him. They hired themselves.
What do you think of this tip? Anyone ever done this? I’m considering doing it for the one I really want but want to hear how others feel about it and if they’ve ever done it themselves.
