Today' was a wake up call. I work as a press operator at a plastic manufacturer. I had been on for the weekend (2-2-3 schedule) and got mandated overtime for my first day off. I was there till about 1 because the job I was on was ending and the original plan was to send all of us home when it did ( there were 5)
I was getting lippy as I tend to and the person in charge didn't like it.so they were going to smoke me run a machine all day. Instead I told them give me half a point I'm gonna go home. Won't play power games with me when I've been feeling like shit all weekend.
I've been looking for work since Sept last year and I think that it's starting to eat at me. I've been grumpy, combative and over all un happy.
The reason I haven't taken anything I've been offered is I've been there 10 years and I want it to be the perfect place...but after this weekend and today I'm getting more and more frustrated. I had an offer that I rejected due to being on the same schedule I am on now..starting to feel like that was a mistake. (I'd love 8 hr days again)
Any advice? How can I go to this dead end job and not be a miserable minion?
