To Canadian expats in the US: how did you land your job?

Hello all,

I currently work in the arts in a major city in Canada and I've put in my notice. I was slightly burned out, but I am also not really into this city. I want a change of scenery and I've noticed there are more jobs in the US in the arts than there are in Canada. I'm not really how a Canadian can gain employment in the US... thus, the title of this post.
