Negotiating full time to part time during interview process?

I am looking to return to work part time after taking two years off as a stay at home Mum. In that time I have also partially completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in my field (graduating at the end of this year).

I have been struggling to find part time roles in my industry. I’ve worked with many people who were part time and it’s an industry that’s friendly to flexible hours, so I know the roles exist. There are currently two FTE roles advertised that I am interested in that also fit my experience. Should I apply for these roles and try to negotiate hours to part time during the interview process or is that a waste of everybody’s time? Alternatively, any other advice on finding part time roles?
