Interviewed for a City job. Haven't heard back in 1.5 weeks. Should I continue to wait or email?

I interviewed for a city job in California where they had a couple open positions available. I am definitely qualified for the positions and it seemed to go really well. I felt like I answered all the questions the panel had thoroughly and still showed them my personality as well. They all seemed to like me.

Anyways, they had about 10-12 people they interviewed for the 2 positions and they grouped them into 3 different categories: "Outstanding" , "Highly Recommended" or "Recommended." I landed in the "Highly Recommended" category. Based upon my research, usually only about 2-4 people from the final group make it into the "Outstanding" or "Highly Recommended" category. So since there are 2 positions, I feel like I have a great shot at getting one of the jobs.

Now to my question... I haven't heard anything in about 1.5 weeks. I am newer to applying for City jobs and didn't know if this was standard. Is there a general time-frame where you should look to ask if the position has been filled? 2 weeks? 2.5 weeks? Never? I know a large majority of the time employers will just fill job openings and you will hear nothing back.

Any advice would be great. Thanks!
