Is there any advice you guys would give me to make it easier for me to acquire one? I really just want any cubicle/office position, I don't really care if its in admin administration or data entry or something like that.
But, I've been struggling because most of them ask for years of experience in other cubicle positions which I don't seem to have. I have a bachelor's degree for UBC in Geography (I tried getting into STEM and accounting before, but due to my ineptitude in mathematics, I had to settle with something less math-intensive instead), have done an internship in event planning where I've gotten introduced to a lot of skills that would prove useful for an office job and am currently working at a staffing agency doing event assisting on behalf of the company, but the jobs often involve manual labor and pay peanuts (i.e. not enough for rent). Plus the work itself isn't steady; it's an on-call position which means that sometimes I'd end up without work for an entire week or two. It feels very degrading and I'm looking for a better opportunity.
That being said, I've mostly just envisioned myself as working in a generic cubical for the majority of my twenties (I'm nearly 24 right now and a year out of uni, so idk if it's too late for me to acquire this sort of position). Yeah, I know, it seems weird considering many hate their cubical jobs themselves, but its really all I want. I already have a dream of becoming a published author, but that's more of a hobby than anything else.
What sort of advice would you guys give me? I've been learning how to design pivot tables as well as Vlookup so far, but I was wondering if there are any other skills that I should be learning online to leverage my way into one of these positions.
