When should I begin my job search in earnest?

I've been sending out a few applications for jobs I really want. I really don't like my current job though and would settle for pretty much anything outside of warehouse or retail. I can't quit my current job for two months, since I'm in school two days a week. How long should I wait (if at all) until that won't be an issue with applying for jobs?
