Hey, all. I am in a bit of a predicament and I hoping to get some insight/advice on what to do. Almost each day of last week and the week prior to that I had multiple interviews that it may take a week or two to decide who to proceed with as their final candidate to fill the role. Don't get me wrong, I am really grateful to receive such interviews with big companies as well as other smaller companies.
I just received an offer from a company I had interviewed for YESTERDAY, which was a bit fast and I was pretty surprised. It fits my role pretty well and I would gain a lot of experience working in the company. The downside is the location since it is in the middle of a big city so parking, traffic etc... is kind of difficult but the shifts are really doable (4 day 10 hour shift).
I was wondering what to do with the other companies that I had the chance to have an interview. I did not accept the offer right away since there is a 48 hour "decision making" time. I lean more towards research rather than the industry side of my career. Should I email those people I interviewed for to hasten their decision or have some updates?
Edit: This is a contract position. I just don't want to accept it and have an offer in a research based setting the next day.
