I graduated college in September and I had no job offers and was strapped for cash, so I took a job at a supermarket to get some money and apply to jobs. The supermarket pulled some really shifty stuff with me and the work environment was extremely toxic and unprofessional, so I put my college degree job search on pause to get any new position possible. The result was an opening at a department store in my hometown.
Fast forward a few months, and we just learned that our store is closing due to low sales. The place has been a ghost town post-holiday and we didn't have a good holiday (even though it seemed busy as hell). I was at my wit's end with the place and was actually considering jumping shark again, but now it's not a matter of wanting to get a new job, it's a matter of needing to. If I don't find a new job in two months I'll be eligible for unemployment, and may have to sign up for it. I've never had to do that in my entire life. And I'm still up shit's creek trying to find a job with my actual Bachelor's Degree. It's a bleak outlook right now.
