I've been working for over a decade in admin, retail, and lately, property management, and the town I live in has very little that interests me that's already established. It's mainly fast food, bars, and retail. And it all pays very poorly. Only working for the military in tech roles gets you anything over $25K. Right now, I work hard for $10 per hour, and it's so stressful that I have panic attacks before work.
I'm wanting to start working for myself, perhaps doing freelance work. I was a real estate agent for 6 months working for myself, and I enjoyed the flexibility. I felt all the work I was doing actually meant something instead of just being yelled at and being forced to do busy work.
My current plan is to find something part time to cover my bills (thankfully, I'm being supported financially through this, but it can't last forever) while I develop a game plan. I'm wanting to specifically break into marketing, content creation, and perhaps even run a coffee shop and bookshop combo.
Does anyone have any advice for how to do this? Anyone break free from that rat race and have anything they'd share? I really appreciate any guidance.
