I've worked in the food industry since I was 14, now 29. I have a culinary arts degree and a pastry certificate. Pastry is my passion but working in a kitchen has put a strain on my physical and mental health. I want to leave the kitchen but my skills are limited. Two years ago I decided to go back to school for a history degree. I still work in a kitchen but the stress and drama seeps into my days off when I'm in school. I'm aware that there will be drama in many workplaces but it's getting out of hand. Example: Person one texts me about person two, person two texts me about person one and three and tells me to talk to person four. Person four sends memes about drama I don't care about because it's stressing me out despite having nothing to do with me. This is part of why I would like to move on, because this never ends. I get paid a decent amount and they work with my school hours, but I'd like to start moving into the direction of my new career. Should I suck it up until I graduate or should I try to find something where I can develop other skills while I'm still in school? And how, since my skills are limited to pastries?
TLDR; I need to find something out of the kitchen; but do I stay with my job until I graduate or try to find something to develop other skills that will help in my career transition and how?
