I work for a large company in the recruiting department. I am one of 4 corporate recruiters and we have an IT recruiter on our team as well. Near the end of the year my manager and 3 of the corporate recruiters left, making me the only corporate recruiter. We also got a new VP at that time. I was part of the interviews and hired 2 new corporate recruiters but since we were under a new VP and manager the budget was a little more open and they got offers higher than mine.
A bit about me. I have over 4 years of recruiting experience, a bachelor's in business and a well known HR certification, PHR. I have also been with the company nearly a year. The 2 that we hired do not have degrees and have been in recruiting less than a year.
I brought up to my manager that they were making more than me now, which he was not aware of and he did give me about a 10 percent raise in January. I have also been in basically a lead role since everyone left. Training the new recruiters, attending meetings, picking up additional tasks and projects. Although I have not been given an official lead title my manager even acknowledged that I was the unofficial lead recruiter.
We now are bringing on an additional IT recruiter and one of the new corporate recruiters expressed interest. I found out today that she is going to transition to that role and will be getting a raise, probably making more than me again.
Do I bring this up again to my manager? I just got a raise and feel weird asking for another. I just don't think it's right that someone with much less experience than me who has only been in her current role 2 months will be getting a raise already and making more than me. Do I ask about becoming a lead officially? I was going to at my 1 year mark but feel like I am constantly passed over for my hard work.
