Job put me in a position of sexual assault, left on bad terms, ever possible to reconcile?

A few years back I worked as a support staff for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Basically cooking, cleaning, showering, etc. individuals who weren’t able to do so for themselves. My schedule was changed and I was assured I’d get to work with a particular client I was compatible with. This ended up getting switched at the last moment to a client who was known to sexually harass/abuse women. I don’t think he was ever held liable because of his intellectual disability. It was thought that he couldn’t grasp the nature of what he was doing. Basically he’d grab a breast or kiss a female staff against her wishes, or make disturbing comments. After a few female staff endured this, he was no longer able to work with female staff and only male staff were assigned to his case.

Until I came along. They decided to put me on the case because they thought my personality would prove that he COULD work with a woman. (I am a major tomboy.) Well, it failed, and like all the other women he worked with, things went south with me, too. They had to take me off his case immediately due to how bad it got. Because of the urgency, this happened without replacing my hours and I was left with only one other shift weekly for about a month while they waited for new shifts to open up for me.

During that time I decided to look for other jobs because I didn’t like how they could do that to me. On my one shift a week with them I got a call from another job looking to interview me. I took the call in the bathroom but was written up for using my phone. They asked me to come in and sign the write up. I didn’t. Regretfully, I ignored their request to do so and they said that if I didn’t respond I’d have chosen to “voluntarily terminate myself” within one week. I just let it go without doing anything because I only had one shift.

Now looking back on it, besides that one time they put me in a horrible position with that one man, I really enjoyed the job. I wish I could go back to them but I fear that the relationship has been too far damaged. Is it possible in any way, shape, or form to rebuild a relationship with them and work for them again? I recently saw a job posting of theirs on Indeed.
