Corporate* my bad
This probably sounds like a ridiculous question lol. I’m 16 not sure what I wanna do with my life. I guess I want to be a therapist but that will take an ample amount of time + not too much pay. But I really think I want to avoid competitive office type jobs. I hear about Coporate America being heartless all the time. First my friends Mom (who is a Russian immigrant) told me that my Mom was going to be treated poorly at her new job at the hospital. She said they’re very rude and passive aggressive, especially to minorities. I didn’t think much of this, but my Mom now hates her job just a few months later because her co workers are always trying to get in her head, and they are negative and try to boss her around. My Dad said he used to work those types of Jobs too. He heard his fair share of “N words” and eventually left and became a correction officer. Despite working 80 hours a week in the Baltimore Jail surrounded by criminals, he says that this job is 100x better than his past one’s. He told me once “corporate America is racist as hell and corrupt. I don’t care what anyone says. You’re gonna have to outdo them 10x”. And now I’m watching this one anime (lol) where the main characters mentor was great at her job and the best there. Then eventually the other people there started bullying her and sabotaging her work out of jealousy. In the end she committed suicide. I know it’s just a show but all this stuff has got me concerned. Is this what the real world is like?
